Hi! Hopefully everyone ended the quarter the way they wanted it to end. Anyways, our graduation date has been set! It's going to be on Monday, June 7th at 2:30 pm. Unfortunately this year it's not going to be at the comcast center, but at the DAR hall instead. Don't forget to order your class caps and gowns via Jostens by Nov 20th.

We just want to say thank you to all the parents and students who helped out with the homecoming activities on our last year. I know we didn't place in what we hoped for but that's not what matters. For those of you who don't know, we came in 3rd in Float, 2nd in BOTC, and 1st in the spirit week competition.

In other news, a parents section will be available soon within a few days so please check back later or tell your parents about it.

First of all, we would like to thank everyone who showed up to the BBQ yesterday! It really meant a lot to us that you guys showed your support and how much you wanted to be involved this year. We definitely want to make our last year at MHS the best ever! There will be float performance meetings this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 to 6 PM at Sonia Galiber's house. The meeting is for everyone who is interested in being a part of the performances for float and kind of get together into the groups for the shows. If you find that you cannot make these meetings but would still like to participate, message Sonia on Facebook. The following week, starting Monday the 24th, is when float construction will actually begin. Hall construction will start once school starts and will be everyday after school. This usually ends at around 4:30. also, we already have our shirts picked out but it still needs to be approved of by the administration. Once it is it will be posted up here for you guys to see. If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the information just contact an officer.

You are welcome to come and go as you please, and there will be enough food for everyone that shows up. We'll continue the discussion on what's going on with float and hall.           There will be a Float and Hall planning meeting on Monday, July 20th at 1 PM at Staci Daniel's house. If you didn't know already, the theme for hall is As We Grow Up and the theme for float is Reality Tv Shows. The meeting is for everyone who plans on helping out with float and hall this year. We will be planning things out and discussing major projects with parents and students, and giving you an overview of what we will basically be doing. We need as much help as possible to make everything bigger and better than the years before. Every little bit helps. There will be a job for everyone when we get started. If you need the address, message Staci Daniels on FB and she'll send you the address.

Once again, we are holding a contest for our official class t-shirt. This way, you have a say in what our shirt looks like. Our class colors this year are black, silver, and blue (shirt is black). All submissions must include our class year (2010 or '10) and can include our float theme, hall theme, or both (see below for themes). Be creative! While making these designs, keep in mind that we may not use any copyrighted images. If you're not sure about that, ask either Stacey Baxter or me (Eileen). The winner will receive 2 homecoming tickets. You must submit your ideas / designs by emailing them here only: mhs.sga.2010@gmail.com. The deadline is JULY 30TH! Any submissions past that date will not be considered.

The overall theme for this year is "The World We Call Our Own." Based on this, we have decided that the Hall theme will be "When I grow up" and the Float theme will be "Reality TV." We have really good ideas for both, so don't pass judgment on them too quickly. Everything this year is super early (Hall - 9/27, BOTC - 9/29, Float - 10/3), so we'll need all the help we can get in order to get ready. Also, colors for our shirt are Black, Silver, and Neon Blue. There's also going to be another contest for the design on our class t-shirts; more information about that will be available soon. We will continually fill you guys in via here, facebook, and other mediums, so remember to check back for updates.

Decisions regarding the hall and float theme have already been decided. We will release information about this soon. Obviously our goal this year is to get a senior sweep, but to do that EVERYONE needs to pitch in and help. The more people who help out, the better our float and hall will turn out! So get your friends involved because we can't do this without you guys. Have a great summer!
